Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
⚠️ Please read these Terms carefully before using iggylearn. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by them.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of iggylearn, an online educational platform operated from the United Kingdom ("the Service"). These Terms form a legally binding contract between you and iggylearn.
iggylearn is operated in England and Wales. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Who can use iggylearn
iggylearn is designed for use by:
- Owners / tutors — adults (18 or over) who purchase a subscription to manage student accounts, set tasks, and monitor progress
- Students — learners whose accounts are created and managed by an owner, parent, or carer
- Parents / carers — individuals who receive progress reports and can view their child's activity via a linked account
You must be 18 or over to create an owner account or purchase a subscription. Student accounts are created and managed by the owner or tutor on behalf of the student. By creating a student account, the account creator confirms they have the necessary authority and any consent required to do so.
You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering. You are responsible for keeping your account details correct.
3. Subscriptions and payment
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout
- A 7-day free trial is available to new accounts; no charge is made until the trial period ends
- You may cancel at any time before the trial ends without incurring any charge
- After the trial, your subscription automatically renews at the selected billing interval unless cancelled
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. iggylearn does not store or have access to your full card details
- All prices are shown in GBP (£). iggylearn is not VAT registered; prices shown are the total price payable with no VAT added
- Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you may have a right to a refund for digital content that does not conform to the contract — contact us if you believe this applies
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' written notice to existing subscribers. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing
- If a payment fails, we will notify you by email. Access to the Service may be suspended until payment is successfully processed
4. Free trial and cancellation
Your 7-day free trial begins on the date you create your account. To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the trial ends. Cancellation is available in your account settings via the Stripe billing portal. On cancellation, access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused periods unless required by law.
5. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account
- You must not share your account or allow any third party to access the Service using your credentials
- You must notify us immediately at hello@iggylearn.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account
- Passwords must meet the minimum security requirements (at least 8 characters including a number or symbol)
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts we have reason to believe have been accessed without authorisation
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use iggylearn only for its intended educational purpose. You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Upload or share content that is offensive, defamatory, threatening, or that infringes any third-party rights
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without prior written consent
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract content from the Service
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or decompile any part of the platform
- Submit false or misleading content to the AI marking system
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service
7. AI-assisted marking
Written tasks are marked using AI provided by Anthropic (Claude). You acknowledge that:
- AI marking is a learning aid and must not be treated as a final, authoritative, or professionally certified assessment
- AI-generated marks and feedback may contain errors or inaccuracies
- iggylearn makes no warranty that AI marking will be accurate, complete, or consistent
- Student answers are transmitted to Anthropic's API solely for marking — see our Privacy Policy and Anthropic's privacy policy for details
- AI marking is not a substitute for qualified educational assessment and should not be relied upon for any high-stakes academic purpose
8. Intellectual property
All worksheets, questions, content, software, branding, and materials on iggylearn are owned by iggylearn or its licensors and are protected by copyright law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use iggylearn content solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes within the platform. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content outside the platform without prior written permission.
Student answers and work submitted on the platform remain the intellectual property of the student (or their parent/guardian if under 18). By submitting work, you grant iggylearn a limited licence to process that work to provide the Service (including AI marking).
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep iggylearn reliably available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we will give reasonable advance notice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- iggylearn is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive loss arising from your use of the Service
- Our total liability in any 12-month period shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in that period
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law
11. Third-party services
iggylearn uses the following third-party services. Use of these services is subject to their own terms:
12. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal in your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used fraudulently or to harm others. On termination, access ceases and data is retained per our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@iggylearn.com. We will attempt informal resolution within 30 days. If unresolved, either party may refer the matter to the courts of England and Wales.
